On This Day-Jan. 30, 1973

On this day, Jan. 30, in  1973, legendary rockers KISS perform their first concert at the Popcorn Pub, later to be renamed the Coventry Club, in Queens.
Less than 10 people stood witness to history in the making. According to bass player Gene Simmons, the band was only paid $50 for two sets. Prior to this, Gene Simmons and fellow guitarist Paul Stanley left their previous group, Wicked Lester, to form a new group. They recruited Peter Criss for drums and Paul "Ace" Frehley for lead guitar. This first show was to be history in the making, considering that some of the songs they played, "Black Diamond" "Deuce" "Watchin' You" and others would become concert mainstays and be played at almost every concert of theirs from then on.

Geezer Butler...ARRESTED!

Well, it seems that the one member of Black Sabbath who I or any fans of the band never thought would get arrested, has gotten arrested. Geezer Butler, best known for being the bass player for Black Sabbath, has been arrested. He was booked under his birth name of Terence Butler. Here's the whole rundown of the situation
On Tuesady Jan. 27, 65 year old Black Sabbath guitarist Terence Michael Joseph Butler, aka 'Geezer' Butler was arrested following an altercation at the Corkscrew Saloon on the Furnace Creek Ranch in Death Valley, California.

He was booked at the Inyo County Jail under his birth name of Terence Michael Butler and was charged with misdemeanor assault, public intoxication and vandalism.

According to the official sheriff statement, "Shortly after midnight on Jan. 27, sheriff’s dispatch received a call regarding a verbal and physical altercation. After the Inyo county sheriff’s deputy arrived on scene and interviewed witnesses, it was determined that there had been an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation — resulting in an individual being struck, and a broken window"

Geezer Butler's post-brawl words

Well, according to the recent post I did about Black Sabbath guitarist Geezer Butler's arrest, he calls the situation an unfortunate incident. Somehow, I find it strange to see him in shorts and a t-shirt. I'm so used to seeing him wearing a black leather coat and all black clothing. But in the meantime, all of this was just a simple little mistake. Everyone makes mistakes. It doesn't matter if your famous or not. Everyone makes mistakes. And he's taking care of them. But it's kinda cool to know he still has a little fight in him still, kinda cool!!!! Rock on!!!
The 65 year old guitarist gave his fans a big thanks for their support. He posted some messages on his Twitter page to the effect of "Thx for your messages & support following the unfortunate altercation that occurred." All the fans are keeping their fingers crossed in the hopes that this will be sorted out before Black Sabbath comes together to record their alleged new album, due to start recording sometime this year.

Major hunk material there!!! He has a cute English accent!!! :D :D :D Here are 16 things you may or may not know about him :D
1
He never reads stories on himself
-We won't take it personally. "I don’t think I even have a clear perspective of how I’m depicted in the media," Hunnam says. "I don’t ever read anything [about myself]. Sometimes fans will say, 'I heard you’re such a nice guy.' And I’m like, 'From where? Where are you getting your information?'"

6
His big break came during a drunken outing to a shoe store
-"I always used to do my shopping on Christmas Eve, and I would get a little Dutch courage in me beforehand, have a couple drinks. I was trying on sneakers for my brother—I was thinking about buying them for him"

7
Comedy is not his thing
-"That’s a whole different skillset that I neither enjoy nor feel compelled to do more of,” he says. “Because I’ve worked with comedy people, and those motherfuckers are seriously funny. You step in with the Seth Rogens of the world, you better have some jokes"

8
He's not all that into doing Fifty Shades of Grey
-"It’s still probably going to be a bit painful for me when the film comes out. It’s always painful when you’ve invested in something and then you don’t end up being a part of it". He was the original choice to play title character Christian Grey, before Irish-born actor Jamie Dornan was offered the role

Someecards

For those unfamiliar with what this is, Someecards are a series of online cards mostly seen on Facebook or the internet. They can pertain to just about anything, from music to pop culture to more adult rated stuff. I'm doing a post on some of the ones I find funny and ones about music. Some of them are so true. But there will be a few on here that are not of the Someecard series that I just find hysterical

So true to all the Sabbath haters out there!

This is me and my sister in May!

This one I like!!

So true!

I would so do this...

Yes, definitely!!!!

Sexiest accent EVER!! And British guys just seem like such perfect gentleman. That I like :D

Ooooh. this would be good. Not so much having a boyfriend with a Brit accent, how about just a friend who's a guy with a cute British accent? I can settle for that :D

Really sad when this seems to be just a little too true...

I see a lot of girls do this. They'll wear a shirt and not even know the band on it or not even like the band; they wear it because it looked cool. Example 1: in 10th grade, a girl I knew had come to school wearing an inappropriate shirt and had to change, and somehow came back to class wearing a black Led Zeppelin shirt advertising their 1976 Tour of America. People asked her if she liked Led Zeppelin and she said she didn't even know who they were, until one of my classmates told her that they were a British hard rock band from the late 1960s

I just had to include this. Too awesome!!!!
